Privacy Policy

To us, it is self-evident that your privacy and self-determination rights must be respected. That mandate also applies to handling personal data when you visit and use this website. For that reason, we operate in compliance with the applicable data protection laws. The following discussion will explain to you how we handle your personal data and specifically which data we process for what purposes and which rights you have with respect to such data.

1 Scope of application

1.1 This Privacy Notice applies to the use of the web pages that C. Josef Lamy GmbH presents online and that you can view at www.lamy.de and www.lamy.com (hereinafter referred to as the “Lamy Websites”). This Privacy Notice does not apply to other websites of C. Josef Lamy GmbH and to other service provider websites to which the Lamy Websites refer via a link.

1.2 Controller within the meaning of the EU Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

C. Josef Lamy GmbH
Grenzhöfer Weg 32
69123 Heidelberg
Germany

2 Personal data

Personal data are any and all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. The fundamental personal data point (datum) is your name. In addition, personal data also encompasses other identifiers such as, for example, your gender, your date of birth, your address, your occupation, your email address and IP address/. Non-personal data, on the other hand, are any data with which the determination of your actual identity is impossible or at least requires a very significant effort. Such data would include, for example, the aforementioned information if we receive such data in an anonymous format or under a pseudonym and cannot therefore ascribed it to any natural person.

3 Principle of anonymity
When using the Lamy Websites, you will remain anonymous as long as you do not volunteer your personal data to us by contacting us through our contact forms or, as a subscriber (Bezugsberechtigter), request instructional materials in the so-called “School Forum for Teachers” (Schulforum für Lehrerinnen & Lehrer) (hereinafter referred to as “School Forum”) and the magazine, LAMY specs, under LAMY specs at specs.lamy.com.

4 Provision of personal data

4.1 Except for the request for instructional materials in the School Forum, the provision of personal data is not compelled either by law or contract in order for you to use the Lamy Websites and is not even required for you to conclude a contract. You are not obligated to supply any of your personal data. However, you will not be unable to visit the Lamy Websites without transmitting the IP addresses that you use.

4.2 In order to contact us through our contact form and request the LAMY specs magazine, instructional materials, information and newsletters via LAMY specs and in the School Forum, the data that are more specifically described in sections 6 through 13 below must be provided. If you do not provide us with these data, then you may not use the contact form and may not request any offers or the LAMY specs magazine or post requests for instructional materials, information and newsletters in the School Forum.

5 Processing of personal data

5.1 We automatically collect from each of your visits to the Lamy Websites information about which IP address is assigned to your computer, which browser and which operating system you use, and which webpages from the Lamy Websites you have viewed. Such data are stored in so-called “log files” on the web server. To protect against abuse of our computer systems, we must temporarily store the IP address of each website visitor for a period of one week. If, beyond that, we should use the log files to analyse the general user conduct, whether for purposes of advertising, market research or the needs-based design of our websites, then the IP addresses and the personal data, which we have captured and stored from each user, will first be anonymised. Otherwise, the IP addresses will be deleted from the log files. In any case, you will thereby remain anonymous both during the automated data collection and the temporary storage of your IP address. Incidentally, the phrase “analysis of the user conduct” means a statistical analysis of the so-called “click streams”, in other words, information on which website a user arrives from, how long he was on the Lamy Websites, which webpages from the Lamy Websites he viewed and in what order, and what his destination was once he left the Websites. This should not be confused with the creation of a user profile, in which the surfing behaviour of a specific person is collected and stored.

5.2 Otherwise, we process your personal data only if you have volunteered such data and such disclosure is allowed by law or you have consented thereto. We will use the personal data that you have provided, but solely for the purposes communicated in this Privacy Notice or as expressly agreed to with you.

5.3 We have authorised various service providers to support us in the deployment, operation and maintenance of our IT systems, which include the Lamy Websites. This group includes, for example, hardware and software suppliers, Google Inc. (for the web analytics service, Google Analytics, see section 17 below), the hosting-providers or data centres. If such service providers are engaged to work on our behalf, then such persons might, as recipients, gain access to your personal data. In that case, however, such service providers will likewise become obligated pursuant to a so-called “data processor agreement” to comply with the data protection requirements; in any case, the statutory provisions on data protection also apply to our service providers.

5.4 There will be no disclosure, sale or other transmission of your personal data to third parties. A different rule will apply only if such action is required to satisfy the communicated or agreed purposes and is allowed under the applicable data protection laws without any consent, if you have expressly provided your consent or if we are obligated by law to take such action. Section 5.3 naturally remains unaffected thereby and applies irrespective of this subsection 5.4.

5.5 The personal data that you have made available on the Lamy Websites or that we have collected will not be used for automated decision-making.

6 Contact form

6.1 If you initiate contact with us using the contact form, then you consent to having us process your notification and your entered contact data for purposes of preparing the response and initiating contact to you. You may also use a pseudonym (in other words, a made-up name) as a name. Your consent as well as our legitimate interest in being able to connect electronically with users of the Lamy Websites serve as the legal bases for the processing (Art. 6 para. (1) (a) and (f) GDPR).

6.2 For purposes of establishing contact via the contact form, you have given the following statement of consent: “Yes, I give my consent to having my data, as entered above, and my notification processed by C. Josef Lamy GmbH for purposes of administration, contact initiation and handling responses. In this connection, I accept and consent to the Privacy Policy. I may revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future.”

6.3 We shall process the data that are shared by you via the contact form but only to process your notification and to respond to you. As long as we have received your contact data, which you provide in the contact form, only for administering, initiating contact and responding to your notification, we shall not use such personal data for any other purposes. Except for those cases in which we are obligated by law, we shall also not in that case disclose your contact data to third parties.

6.4 Six (6) months after sending the response, we shall erase the data transmitted via the contact form, unless we are obligated by law to retain such data for a longer period of time or we still require the personal data to perform or wind-down an existing contractual relationship or for evidentiary purposes. In that case, we shall erase the relevant data after the statutory data retention period ends or as soon as we no longer require the data for performing or winding-down an existing contractual relationship or for evidentiary purposes.

6.5 You may revoke your consent at any time for the future (contact data, see section 22 below). Following the revocation, your contact data will be stored as long as and to the extent that we are required to do so in accordance with the statutory data retention obligations and we still need the personal data to perform or wind-down an existing contractual relationship or for evidentiary purposes.

7 Request for an offer

7.1 If you contact us via the form used to request an offer (offer request form), then you give us your consent that your inquiry, including any additional commentary, may be processed by us together with your entered contact data for the purposes of handling the response and initiating contact with you. You may also use a pseudonym (in other words, a made-up name) as a name. Your consent as well as our legitimate interest in being able to connect electronically with and make offers to users of the Lamy Websites serve as the legal bases for the processing (Art. 6 para. (1) (a) and (f) GDPR).

7.2 For purposes of establishing contact via the offer request, you have given the following statement of consent: “Yes, I give my consent to having my data, as entered above, and my additional commentary processed by C. Josef Lamy GmbH for purposes of administration, contact initiation and handling responses. In this connection, I accept and consent to the Privacy Policy. I may revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future.”.

7.3 We shall process the contact data that are shared by you via the offer request form but only to process your request for an offer and to respond to you. As long as we have received your contact data, which you provide in the offer request, only for administering, initiating contact and responding to your request for an offer, we shall not use such personal data for any other purposes. Except for those cases in which we are obligated by law, we shall also not in that case disclose your contact to third parties.

7.4 Six (6) months after sending the response, we shall erase the contact data you transmitted via the offer request form, unless we are obligated by law to retain such data for a longer period of time or we still require the personal data to perform or wind-down an existing contractual relationship (e.g., after you have accepted an offer made by us) or for evidentiary purposes. In that case, we shall erase the relevant data after the statutory data retention period ends or as soon as we no longer require the data for performing or winding-down an existing contractual relationship or for evidentiary purposes.

7.5 You may revoke your consent at any time for the future (contact data, see section 22 below). Following the revocation, your contact data will be stored as long as and to the extent that we are required to do so in accordance with the statutory data retention obligations and we still need the personal data to perform or wind-down an existing contractual relationship or for evidentiary purposes.

8 “LAMY specs” magazine request

8.1 If you initiate contact with us via specs.lamy.com to request the “LAMY specs” magazine, then you consent to having us process your entered contact data for purposes of mailing you (via post) the requested magazine. Your consent as well as our legitimate interest in having informational material sent to (potential) customers serve as the legal bases for the processing (Art. 6 para. (1) (a) and (f) GDPR).

8.2 For purposes of establishing contact via specs.lamy.com to request the “LAMY specs” magazine, you have given the following statement of consent: “Yes, I give my consent to having my data, as entered above, processed by C. Josef Lamy GmbH for purposes of mailing to me (by post) the “LAMY specs” magazine that I ordered. In this connection, I accept and consent to the Privacy Policy. I may revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future.”

8.3 We shall process the data that you shared via specs.lamy.com for requesting the “LAMY specs” magazine, but only for purposes of mailing you the requested “LAMY specs” magazine. As long as we have received your contact data, which you provide in the request, only for the mail out, we shall not use such personal data for any other purposes. Except for those cases in which we are obligated by law, we shall also not in that case disclose your contact data to third parties.

8.4 Six (6) months after sending out the “LAMY specs” magazine, we shall erase the data transmitted by you via the request, unless we are obligated by law to retain such data for a longer period of time or we still require the personal data to perform or wind-down an existing contractual relationship or for evidentiary purposes. In that case, we shall erase the relevant data after the statutory data retention period ends or as soon as we no longer require the data for performing or winding-down an existing contractual relationship or for evidentiary purposes.

8.5 You may revoke your consent at any time for the future (contact data, see section 22 below). Following the revocation, your contact data will be stored as long as and to the extent that we are required to do so in accordance with the statutory data retention obligations and we still need the personal data to perform or wind-down an existing contractual relationship or for evidentiary purposes.

9 LAMY specs-Newsletter

9.1 If, as part of a request posted on specs.lamy.com, you provide your email address and also in a request for information to LAMY specs, click and thereby activate the checkbox for receiving our newsletter, then you are thereby consenting to having us process your email address for purposes of sending our LAMY specs Newsletter. When registering for the distribution of the LAMY specs Newsletter, your email address as well as your IP address together with the date and time of your request will be stored so that we are able to provide evidence in the event that the email address used has been misused. The legal bases for such action are your consent and our legitimate interest in protecting ourselves against abuse and in sending the LAMY specs Newsletter solely to legitimate interested parties from the LAMY specs (Art. 6, para. (1) (a), and (f) GDPR).

9.2 After you have registered for (subscribed to) the LAMY specs Newsletter, you will receive from us an email containing a link for confirming your subscription. We will activate your participation in the newsletter distribution only if you have clicked on the confirmation link in that email and we have received your confirmation (the so-called “Double-opt-in” procedure). By confirming this, you are also stating that you are the owner of the email address that you provided and that you would like us to email you the LAMY specs Newsletter. If such a confirmation from you is not made within twenty-four hours, then your registration (subscription) will be automatically erased from our database.

9.4 As long as we have received your email address only for purposes of sending out the Newsletter, we shall not use such information for any purposes other than your subscription to the LAMY specs Newsletter. Except for those cases in which we are obligated by law, we shall not in that case disclose your contact information to third parties.

9.5 You may at any time for the future revoke your consent to receiving the LAMY specs Newsletter and to any related processing of your personal data and may at any time unsubscribe from receiving via email the LAMY specs Newsletter by clicking the unsubscribe link that you will find in each of these emails. You may also unsubscribe either in writing (for contact information, see section 22) or via email sent to specs@lamy.de. After you have unsubscribed, your email address will be erased from our email distribution list for the LAMY specs-Newsletter. Thereafter, your email address will be stored as long as and to the extent that we are required to do so in accordance with the statutory data retention obligations and we still need the personal data to perform or wind-down an existing contractual relationship or for evidentiary purposes.

10 School Forum

10.1 If, as a School Forum subscriber, you request instructional materials and thereby enter into a contract with us, then we will collect your personal data that are required for implementing and performing the contract. The legal bases for the processing are the performance of the contract formed between us and our interest in receiving requests for instructional material from the School Forum subscribers only (Art. 6, para. (1) (a), and (f) GDPR).

10.2 If, in connection with the requests for the instructional materials in the School Forum, you also click and thereby activate the checkbox for receiving School Forum information and/or the checkbox for receiving our School Forum Newsletter, then the terms and conditions under sections 10 or 11 below will also apply.

10.3 As long as we have received your personal data, which are transmitted in connection with the instructional materials request, only for purposes of performing the contract, we shall not use such personal data for any other purposes. Except for those cases in which we are obligated by law, we shall not in that case disclose your contact information to third parties.

10.4 After the contract has been performed, we will delete (erase) the personal data, which are transmitted by you as part of the requests for instructional material, once the statutory data retention periods have expired.

11 School Form information

11.1 If, in connection with a request in the School Forum and a request for instructional materials, you click and thereby activate the checkbox to receive School Forum information (including product information), then you consent to having us process your entered contact information for purposes of sending the School Forum information by regular mail. If you have provided us with your email address in this connection, then you have also consented to having us send you the School Forum information via email and having us process your email address for that purpose. For security purposes, we store not only the contact information you have provided, but also your IP address as well as the date and time of the request so that we are able to furnish evidence in the event the contact data used are misused. Your consent as well as our legitimate interest in being able to protect ourselves against abuse serve as the legal bases for the aforementioned (Art. 6 para. (1) (a) and (f) GDPR)

11.2 If you have provided your email address, then you will receive from us an email containing a link for confirming your registration. We will activate your participation in the email distribution of the School Forum information, if you have clicked on the confirmation link in that email and we have received your confirmation (the so-called “Double-opt-in” procedure). By confirming this, you are also stating that you are the owner of the email address which you provided and that you would like to have us email you the School Forum Information. Josef Lamy GmbH for purposes of sending the School Forum information (including product information). In this connection, I accept and consent to the Privacy Policy. I may revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future.”

11.4 Apart from the processing that is carried out to execute the request for instructional materials (see section 10), we shall process the contact data transmitted by you in connection with the request but only for purposes of sending you the School Forum information by regular mail or email (if provided). Except for those cases in which we are obligated by law, we shall not in that case disclose your contact information to third parties.

11.5 You may revoke your consent at any time for the future (contact data, see section 22 below). Following the revocation, your contact data will be stored as long as and to the extent that we are required to do so in accordance with the statutory data retention obligations and we still need the personal data to perform or wind-down an existing contractual relationship (e.g., contract on delivering instructional materials) or for evidentiary purposes.

12 School Form Newsletter

12.1 If, as part of a request posted on the School Forum, you provide your email address and also in a request for instructional materials, click and thereby activate the checkbox for receiving our School Forum Newsletter, then you are thereby consenting to having us process your email address for purposes of sending our School Forum Newsletter. When registering for the distribution of the School Forum Newsletter, your email address as well as your IP address together with the date and time of your request will be stored so that we are able to provide evidence in the event that the email address used has been misused. The legal bases for such action are your consent and our legitimate interest in protecting ourselves against abuse and in sending the School Forum Newsletter solely to legitimate interested parties from the School Forum (Art. 6, para. (1) (a) and (f) GDPR)

12.2 After registering for (subscribing to) the School Form Newsletter, you will receive from us an email with a link to confirm your subscription. 12.4 As long as we have received your email address only for purposes of sending out the Newsletter, we shall not use such information for any purposes other than your subscription to the School Forum Newsletter. Except for those cases in which we are obligated by law, we shall not in that case disclose your contact information to third parties.

12.5 You may at any time for the future revoke your consent to receiving the School Forum Newsletter and to any related processing of your personal data and may at any time unsubscribe from receiving via email the School Forum Newsletter by clicking the unsubscribe link that you will find in each of these emails. You may also unsubscribe either in writing (for contact information, see section 22) or via email sent to gabriela.ritter@lamy.de. After you have unsubscribed, your email address will be erased from our email distribution list for the School Forum Newsletter. Thereafter, your email address will be stored as long as and to the extent that we are required to do so in accordance with the statutory data retention obligations and we still need the personal data to perform or wind-down an existing contractual relationship or for evidentiary purposes.

13 Revocation of consent

13.1 In accordance with the applicable statutory provisions, you have the opportunity at any time to revoke for the future your consent to the processing of your personal data. Please contact the offices or persons listed in section 22 below.

13.2 We hereby inform you that the processing of your personal data, which we undertake on the basis of your declared consent, will continue unaffected until your revocation and will remain lawful.

14 Right of access (to information), rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability

To the extent allowed by statute, you have the right to receive from us information about your personal data that we process and to assert the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to the processing and data portability. The exact conditions under which you will be entitled to assert the aforementioned rights are set forth in Arts. 15 through 21 of the GDPR as well as in sections 34, 35 and 37 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). If you wish to assert one or more of the aforementioned rights, please also reach out to the contact person identified in section 22 below.

15 Right to complain

To the extent allowed by statute, you have the right to lodge complaints related to data protection with the competent supervisory authority. The supervisory authority that has jurisdiction over our company is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg (the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information in the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg), which you can reach together with the supervisory authority via the website: https://www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de/.

16 Use of Cookies

16.1 We use so-called “cookies” on the Lamy Websites. These are small text files stored on your end device (PC, smartphone, tablet, etc.). A number of cookies used by us are erased from your drive (hard drive, solid state disc, flash drive, etc.) at the end of the browser session (so-called “session cookies”). Other cookies will remain on your device and will allow us to recognise your device when you visit our site again (so-called “permanent cookies”). We also insert cookies of third-party providers that allow such providers to process your personal data and that amalgamate the captured information with other data that these third-party providers have already stored about you or that were collected from you during your use of the third-party services.

16.2 As soon as you visit the Lamy Websites, you will receive a notification about the use of cookies. Notwithstanding this notification, the following cookies will be embedded:
• JSESSIONID: This is a cookie that is part of the J2EE web application and is used in session tracking. Since HTTP is a stateless protocol, each separate web session requires its own ID number to store the status or state of the relevant web session.
• _utma, _utmb, _utmc, _utmt, _utmz: The cookies used by Google Analytics and the significance of such cookies are described under https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de and https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/cookie-usage.

16.3 If you accept the use of cookies by clicking the “OK” button, then in addition to the aforementioned cookies, the following cookies will also be embedded:
• hide-cookie-disclaimer: It stores the confirmation of the cookie notification. It is used to manage the notification display. No personal data are stored in the cookie.

16.4 If you click one of the social media links shown on the Lamy Websites, the social media network website to which the Lamy Websites is linked will open. From that other website, other cookies might be stored on your device. These cookies are outside our sphere of influence. Only the respective provider is responsible for ensuring that the performance of such cookies conforms to the data protection provisions.

16.5 The content of the cookies is encrypted (exception: hide-cookie-disclaimer) to prevent third parties from being able to gain unauthorised access to the data contained therein.

16.6 The legal basis for our use of cookies is our legitimate interest in guaranteeing the technical features of our web appearance on the Lamy Websites, in analysing its use via web analytics services and in designing it on a needs-basis (Art. 6 para. (1) (f) GDPR).
16.7 By making the appropriate adjustments in the security settings of your browser, you may at any time view and delete the saved cookies and restrict or prohibit the acceptance of cookies.
16.8 When third-party provider services are used on the Lamy Websites (e.g., our online catalogue) or when you click on a link, third-party provider cookies could be used without any express warning from us. By making the appropriate adjustments in the security settings of your browser, you may at any time view and delete the saved cookies and restrict or prohibit the acceptance of cookies.

17 Use of Google Analytics

17.1 As described in more detail in subsections 13.2 et seq. below, we use the online service, Google Analytics from the US company Google Inc., on the Lamy Websites. Google Analytics analyses the data traffic on the Lamy Websites and thereby collects various data related to you and to your user conduct on the Lamy Websites (e.g., information on which web browser you use to surf the Internet, the website from which you arrived, which language settings you use, which search engines you use, the date and time of your visit to the Lamy Websites, how long you remained on which sites). In this respect, your IP address is collected on an anonymised basis only; for details, see subsections 13.3 and 13.6 above. We use Google Analytics for the purpose of comprehending user conduct on the Lamy Websites and to garner a better understanding so that we can optimise our website and provide users with a better experience. The legal basis for our use of Google Analytics is our legitimate interest in using the website appearance on the Lamy Websites for marketing purposes and to optimise it on a needs-basis (Art. 6 para. (1) (f) GDPR). The user data collected by Google Analytics are routinely deleted by us.

17.2 The Lamy Websites use functions from the web analytics service, Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc. 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files that are saved on your computer and that facilitate an analysis of your use of the Lamy Websites (see also section 12 above). As a rule, the information that is generated by the cookie about your use of the Lamy Websites is transmitted to and then stored at a Google server located in the United States.

17.3 In the event the IP anonymisation is activated and it is used on the Lamy Websites (see also subsection 13.6 above), your IP address will, however, be first truncated by Google within the Member States of the European Union or in other Contracting States of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server located in the United States and then truncated. By authority and on behalf of the operator of these Lamy Websites, Google will use such information in order to analyse your use of the Lamy Websites, to compile reports about the website activities, and to provide the website operators with other services that are connected with the website usage and Internet usage. The IP addresses transmitted by your browser in connection with Google Analytics will not be amalgamated with other data of Google.

17.4 You may prevent the storage of cookies by making the appropriate setting adjustments in your browser software; we must inform you, however, that in those cases, you may not be able to fully utilise all of the functions of these Lamy Websites. You may also prevent the collection of the data that are generated by the cookie and relate to your use of Lamy Websites (including your IP address) and the processing of such data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available from the following site: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

17.5 You may also prevent the collection by Google Analytics of data that you post on the Lamy Websites and are stored in the cookie by activating the link set forth below. An opt-out cookie will be saved on your computer, and it will prevent the future collection of your data when you visit the Lamy Websites (it will not apply, however, to other websites that you visit and to other browsers that you use on the same computer): Google Analytics deaktivieren. This alternative is especially well-suited for mobile devices. If you decide to use this alternative, then you should not delete the opt-out cookie. Otherwise, you will lose the protection afforded by this opt-out cookie until you have reinstalled it.

17.6 The code, “anonymised IP”, was added to Google Analytics on the Lamy Websites. The use of this code leads to an anonymous collection of your IP address through so-called “IP masking”. The last octet of your IP address is thereby set to zero. For IPv6 addresses, this relates to the last 80 of the 128 bits. This still takes place in random access memory before the data are written to the hard drive (see also https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2763052).

17.7 Additional information about the purpose and scope of the data collection and processing by Google Analytics can be found in Google’s privacy policies on the Google website. In this regard, we are aware of the following websites:
https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de
http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/

18 Use of social media links

We currently use no social medial plug-ins on the Lamy Websites. Nevertheless, we display the following social media website links on the Lamy Websites:
• Facebook, www.facebook.com
• Google+, www.plus.google.com
• Instagram, www.instagram.com
• Pinterest, www.pinterest.com
• Twitter, www.twitter.com

These links are to our corporate page on the relevant social media network; the link contains no other functions (other than, for example, Facebook’s “Like” button). When you click on a social media link on the Lamy Websites, only the corresponding linked webpage will open.

19 Web fonts

19.1 Web fonts from Fonts.com are used on the Lamy Websites, which requires that your browser must download the necessary web fonts to your cache (i.e., temporary storage). The browser creates a link to the servers of the web font providers and thereby transmits the IP addresses that your end device is using at that very point in time. The provider of the web font thereby learns that a user with your IP address is visiting our Lamy Websites. If your web browser does not support the web fonts used by the Lamy Websites, then the presentation will instead be on the basis of a standard font.

19.2 The legal basis for our use of web fonts is our legitimate interest in displaying text and font types in our online presentation on the Lamy Websites both correctly and independently of the systems that are used by you, in order to guarantee an optically pleasing presentation of our Lamy Websites on the end devices that are accessing them (Art. 6 para. (1) (f) GDPR).

20 Google Maps

20.1 We deploy material from Google Maps on the Lamy Websites and use the programme interface, Google Maps API, for their integration and geographic display. As is customary for Google services, Google also collects data about the use of this service when Google Maps is used and processes such data. Thus, it cannot be ruled out that Google will at least learn the IP address ascribed to you during your visit to the Lamy Websites. Depending on which additional data (e.g., in cookies) are stored on your end device, Google could also learn still more information about you while you are surfing on the Lamy Websites.

21 IT security

We take various technical and organisational security measures in order to protect the integrity and confidentiality of your personal data. To that end, your personal data will be encrypted using so-called “secure socket layer technology” (SSL) during transmission. That means that the communication between your computer and the servers of Lamy Websites will be carried out using a recognised encryption method that is considered secure based on its updated version (currently SSL-Version 3, 256 bit). If your browser is SSL-supported, then the transmission of personal data will be protected by this function. In that case, most web browsers will display a brief dialogue box or a graphic symbol that shows you whether the security protocol is supported. You may find additional information under the help function of your browser.
